Gregory Transportation, Inc. 1980-1998
Gregory Logistics, Inc. 1999

Gregory Transportation, Inc. began business in 1980, as Gregory Farms, a sole proprietorship owned and operated by LW and Anna Gregory. With only one truck, and help from their son, Larry Gregory they hauled farm products as an exempt carrier.

Four years later Gregory Farms was granted I.C.C. authority to operate as a contract carrier with four trucks. Within another four years, the company became Gregory Transportation, operating twenty trucks with a wide range of customers in the Poplar Bluff, Missouri area and across the nation.

In 1991, Gregory Transportation was incorporated with LW, Anna, and Larry Gregory as the Board of Directors. We remain today as we started – a family owned and operated business. At that time all directors of Gregory Transportation, Inc. were actively participating in the day-to-day operations of the business.

By 1993, Gregory Transportation, Inc. had grown to fifty trucks and ninety trailers. It is a service-oriented company, which places top priority in serving its customers in every way possible. During this time Gregory hauled for several major shippers, including Briggs & Stratton, Royal Oak Charcoal, and Quaker State Oil, achieving an on-time pick up and delivery status of 100%.

Toward the end of 1995 Gregory Transportation, Inc. had grown to 80 trucks and 150 trailers. We attribute a major portion of our growth to our employees, our location, and our customers.

As with any company as it grows and prospers changes are sure to come. In January 1999 LW Gregory, Owner & President of the company retired. Larry Gregory, former Vice President was appointed President of the company now known as Gregory Logistics, Inc., established January 1, 1999.

Over the years Gregory Transportation, Inc. earned a reputation for consistently providing top quality service and distribution programs. Gregory Logistics, Inc. plans to continue that service by earning the same reputation offered by its predecessor. That reputation was a result of hard work on the part of dedicated people – people like our professional driver’s who take pride in their job. However, being a Gregory driver isn’t easy! We maintain some of the highest standards in the nation. Our driver’s and our customer’s always come first. It’s our commitment to quality that sets Gregory Logistics, Inc. apart from other companies. That quality starts with our driver’s.

Also included in the UPS is large battery that can supply up to 30 minutes run time if electrical power is interrupted.

Shop area: The truck repair portion of Gregory Logistics, Inc. is now D & L Truck Repair, Inc. it  contains 14,000 square feet and measures 175 feet in length and 80 feet in width. This area is made up of three pull through repair bays for truck and trailer repairs, a lube pit for tractors, tire repair bay, a 40 feet by 50 feet warehouse space and pull through wash bay. Two large overhead waste oil heaters provide heat for the entire shop area. These heaters burn the waste oil that is drained from the trucks during oil changes. The waste oil is stored in a 2,500 gallon holding tank outside until needed. Total BTU output for the two heaters is 1,000,000.

Shop office and parts room: Inventory is maintained to reduce repair downtime on trucks and trailers. To eliminate excess parts stocking, inventory is computer controlled. Parts are bar coded to speed inventory control and to reduce keying errors on work orders.

Wash bay: A Landa Alpha waste water filer removes any solids and all oil or diesel fuel from water used to wash trucks and clean shop floors. Also wastewater from the fuel bay is filtered through this system.
